Medicaid program designed to meet the medical needs of pregnant women, children born after Sept. 30, 1983, persons 65 years of age or older, persons who are blind, and persons who are permanently and totally disabled and who are residents of the State. The income and/or resource guidelines exceed those of other Medicaid programs and full service coverage may be offered to qualified low-income persons who are aged, blind or disabled. For pregnant women and children, only income is evaluated in determining financial eligibility and the income guidelines exceed those of other Medicaid programs and vary based on the ages of the children. Full Medicaid benefits are available to eligible individuals.

Through this program, NJ residents without access to group coverage or Medicare are eligible for guaranteed access to health coverage from any carrier in the market.
