Short term intervention center designed to serve youth ages 10-17 who are in need of a safe shelter, advocacy, and counseling services. The primary target population are youth who have run away, are homeless, or have been abused, neglected or abandoned.
To supplement our safe shelter program, the Outreach Services Program was created to maintain an active level of community outreach to promote awareness of the needs and services available to youth in Ocean County. This program required us to expand into an Outreach Center, located in a donated storefront in a strip mall. The center is open daily for individual, family and group counseling sessions.
Two other major areas of expansion as part of our continued community outreach include satellite counseling groups and a mobile street outreach program. The counseling groups are being held at satellite locations throughout the county. Currently, these services are being offered in four communities. Our mobile street outreach van visits 15 communities throughout the county seven nights a week disseminating information and referrals to street youth.

Services Provided

Shelter - temporary shelter, food and clothing, medical attention, parent and teen medication, referral services, advocacy, follow-up care, case management and recreational activities.

Outreach - Short term individual and family counseling, weekly support groups for teens and parents (these groups are: Young Men's and Young Women's Anger Management, N.A., Teen Rap, Teens Living Clean, Ala-teen, Peer Leaderships, and Parent's). We also have satellite groups in South Toms River, Lacey, Manchester, and Lakewood.

Mobile Street Program - We currently canvas 15 communities seven nights a week providing information, intervention, and referral services to youth on the streets.

Volunteer Program - Variety of voluntary opportunities for teens, college students, adults and  senior citizens. Volunteers are trained and work in various capacities throughout the agency.
