child abuse and neglect.
Services: Parent
support groups, parents of teens support groups, teen pregnancy
initiative, H.O.P.E.S. (Healing ourselves physically, emotionally and
spiritually), P.O.S.S.E. (Parenting our successors in society
effectively): The goal of this program is to empower, educate and
support minority fathers to assume their role as fathers and community
leaders. Children’s Program provides a group for the children of
parents attending Parents Anonymous groups. Family Helpline is a
listening line for stressed parents, which also provides information,
referral and crisis intervention to families in need. Training and
Community Education: Speakers available to schools, churches, community
groups and others to educate about the issues of parenting, parental
stress and child abuse prevention. Resource Library: Print and media
materials on parenting, family violence and child abuse and neglect are
available on loan.

An experimental method
for the delivery of Medicaid personal care assistant services which is
based on the concept of consumer direction. Individuals are given
monthly cash grants, in lieu of traditional agency services. With the
support of a trained consultant, the individual purchases the supports
and services necessary to meet their personal care needs. |

P.E.P. presents "The Forum Players", an
educational drama group performing two plays on social issues for schools, PTA's,
inservice workshops, and community organizations.

plays-"The Game of Silence" concerning substance abuse & the breakdown of
communication within the family, and "Crossed Wires" about children with
