Almost every branch of the Ocean County Library system has a few selected titles of N.J.S.A. The federal statutes are available in Toms River and Lakewood in the United States Code Annotated (U.S.C.A.). Federal laws including legislative histories can be found in the U.S. Code Congressional and Administrative News in the Information Services Department.

New Jersey court cases are available in the Information Services Department on CD ROM. These cases, known as New Jersey Reports (N.J.) and New Jersey Superior Court Reports (N.J. Super), go back to 1885.

REGULATIONS
The New Jersey Administrative Code (N.J.A.C.) includes all of the regulations promulgated by New Jersey state agencies. It is available on CD-ROM in the Information Services Department on a computer designated for legal resources. This computer also has the CD-ROM's for New Jersey court cases. The New Jersey Register (N.J.R) published twice monthly includes revisions to the N.J.A.C. and proposed new regulations are available in paper. Federal regulations are available in paper in a set called the Code of Federal Regulations (C.F.R.).

These forms are included in New Jersey Family Law Practice and Forms for New Jersey Divorce Practice.

Corpus Juris Secundum (C.J.S.) and Black’s Law Dictionary contain legal definitions and citations to court decisions. An attorney directory called Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory is available and provides biographical information and ratings on lawyers in the United States and other countries. The New Jersey Lawyers Diary and Manual available in Toms River and most other branches includes all lawyers admitted to the New Jersey Bar and information about New Jersey and federal courts.

PRO-SE BOOKS
These are books which explain the law in layman’s terms and include a basic background of law in a particular area with general forms and procedure. Most of the library branches have pro-se books published by companies such as Nolo Press with titles such as Nolo’s Will Book, Patent it Yourself, and the Power of Attorney Book.

The Internal Revenue Code and regulations are available in the Information Services Department. West’s Internal Revenue Code and Federal Tax Regulations are kept in book form for the current year plus five years preceding.
