This web site gives you access to a database of all Federal programs available to State and local governments (including the District of Columbia); federally-recognized Indian tribal governments; Territories (and possessions) of the United States; domestic public, quasi-public, and private profit and nonprofit organizations and institutions; specialized groups; and individuals.

ED.gov: Grants and Contracts
This site , from the U.S. Department of Education, is a resource to find education grants. Includes "forms for grant applications, performance reporting, budget, and other information."

EPA Grant-Writing Tutorial
This site is intended to help with the process and paperwork of applying for a grant -- especially a Federal grant. It is produced by the Environmental Protection Agency and Purdue University.

FirstGov for Nonprofits
Sponsored by the United States General Services Administration (GSA), this cross-agency web portal provides links to many government sources of information for and about nonprofits.

Foundation Center
Founded in 1956, the Center serves grantseekers, grantmakers, researchers, policymakers, themedia, and the general public. It has a virtual classroom, a proposal writing course online and more.

The materials on this site offer insights and suggestions gathered from donors and grant makers. GrantCraft is a project of the Ford Foundation.

Grants.gov
Organizations can “electronically find and apply for competitive grant opportunities from all Federal grant-making agencies. It is the single access point for over 900 grant programs offered by the 26 Federal grant-making agencies.”

“Scores of items of information and advice about nonprofits are included in this online resource.”

Internet Resources for Nonprofits: Topic Directory
From the Utica Public Library: This site is an annotated directory of over 800 Internet resources for nonprofits. It contains sites on "management and governance, fund raising and grants, topical publications, program evaluation” and much more.

Legal Information Institute
Includes an overview of non-profit organizations; information on Federal and State Statues and Regulations.

Nonprofit Good Practice Guide
This site offers "articles, standards of practice, resources, and glossaries" for nonprofit management. Topics include fundraising and financial stability, governance, staff development and organizational capacity, accountability and evaluation, volunteer management, communications and marketing, management and leadership, advocacy, and technology.

Non-Profit Guides
This site is a grant writing resource designed to assist non-profit organizations, charitable, educational, public organizations, and other community-minded groups. It contains guides to preliminary proposals and full proposals including many samples.

Technology Grant News
This site is a companion to a publication that provides information about technology funding "for colleges & universities, K-12 schools, non profits, libraries & museums and towns & cities." The site features a sample issue, sample articles, and links to selected grants, browsable by type of donor or recipient.

U.S. Department of Education
