Religious Freedom

First Amendment Center

Today, Catholic Online provides over five million pages of content including the largest online historical and biblical database about the Catholic Church, and scriptures from all books of the Old and New Testament. http://www.catholic.org/ Catholic Online-Saints and Angels- The Saints section of this site has hundreds of entries. Also has pages with calendars, a FAQ, and lists of patron saints.

Jewish Virtual Library
This comprehensive Jewish encyclopedia has thousands of articles, maps, and photographs. There is a large bibliography of books and Web sites as well as a large glossary and a timeline of Jewish history. Among the highlights are a virtual tour of Israel, and the complete text of the Hebrew Bible in English.

Your Gateway to the Jewish Internet-The Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America (Orthodox Union) is a not-for-profit educational, outreach and social service organization serving the North American Orthodox Jewish community. The searchable site provides a database of synagogues, dates of holidays and how they are observed.

Judaism 101
This online encyclopedia serves as an introductory course to Judaism, covering Jewish beliefs, people, places, things, language, scripture, holidays, practices and customs. Articles are categorized into basic, intermediate, and advanced content so users can find information appropriate to their level of knowledge.

Jewish Encyclopedia
Contains the complete contents of the 12-volume Jewish Encyclopedia, which was originally published between 1901-1906. Included are Jewish history, law, theology, philosophy, literature, biography, and traditions.

Evangelical Lutheran Church in America
An online catalog for the denominational archives of the largest Lutheran organization in North America. This site contains a Church locator, news, devotions, spiritual resources, weekly prayers, essays, organizational information, and indexes for periodicals.


Muslim Life in America

Includes interviews with Muslim scholars, an overview of major themes (Islam and women, Islam and the West), and portraits (with video clips) of ordinary Muslims from around the globe. Companion to an episode of the PBS series Frontline.
