BulletTools for Teens and Adults:
The Signs and Symptoms of Drug Abuse

In 2010 the use of illicit drugs like heroin, cocaine, marijuana and crystal meth were rampant in our country. The abuse of prescription drugs by young people has skyrocketed and become a serious danger to the youth of today. This program will empower parents/guardians and educators to learn what the drugs and paraphernalia associated with the drugs are hidden in homes and in cars, and many of the excuses kids use to cover their drug use.

BulletTools for Teens and Adults:
   Bullying 101

The new Students’ Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights, signed into law in New Jersey in January, 2011, has been described as the toughest state law about school bullying in the nation. What does this law mean for students, parents, and schools? This program will cover the basics of bullying: what it is, why it is so harmful, what parents can do about it, what teenagers need to know, and what the new law means for all of us. This program is presented by Dr. Paula Rodriguez Rust, Sociologist and member of the NJ Special Task Force on Bullying, Cyberbullying Awareness and Prevention. Dr. Rust lectures internationally, has appeared on 20/20 & been quoted in many publications including Newsweek. Professional Development Certificates are provided. The Ocean County Library is a registered NJ Department of Education Professional Development Provider.
