NJ Theatre Alliance’s ‘Stages Festival’ Returns to Ocean County Library

TOMS RIVER - The New Jersey Theatre Alliance’s “Stages Festival” will return to the Ocean County Library this March, with 11 different productions presented across 15 library branches and two off-site locations throughout the county. The alliance is committed to providing Broadway-quality productions in partnership with local playhouses.

This unique program, which originated in 1981, was designed to encourage New Jersey residents to attend local professional theatres by making the experience affordable, accessible, and fun. These family friendly productions are available to the public free of charge, but registration is required:

“Miss Nelson has a Field Day” presented by The Centenary Stage Company.

  • March 6th, 3:30 pm at the Island Heights Branch, 121 Central Ave.

“Miss Nelson is Missing” presented by The Centenary Stage Company

  • March 11th, 2 pm at the Point Pleasant Borough Branch, 834 Beaver Dam Rd.

  • March 20th, 6:30 pm at the Brick Branch, 301 Chambers Bridge Rd.

  • March 25th, 2:30 pm at the Stafford Branch, 129 N. Main St.

  • March 30th, 3:45 pm at the Point Pleasant Beach Branch, 710 McLean Ave.

“Gabi Goes Green” presented by George Street Playhouse

  • March 8th, 3:30pm at the Long Beach Island Grade School, 201 20th St.

“Jewish Storytelling: Gerald Fierst” presented by The Pushcart Players

  • March 11th, 10:30 am at the Waretown Branch, 112 Main St.

“Peter and the Wolf” presented by Pushcart Players

  • March 17th, 2 pm at the Lakewood Branch, 301 Lexington Ave.

  • March 18th, 2 pm at the Barnegat Branch, 112 Burr St.

“The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey’s Shakespeare LIVE! A Midsummer Night’s Dream” presented by The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey

  • March 20th, 6:30 pm at Manchester Township High School, 101 S Colonial Dr.

“Paper Mill Playhouse Broadway Show Choir” presented by Paper Mill Playhouse

  • March 25th, 3 pm at the Upper Shores Branch, 112 Jersey City Ave.

“Victorian Magic” presented by East Lynne Theater Company

  • March 25th, 2 pm at the Lacey Branch, 10 East Lacey Rd.

  • March 27th, 6 pm at the Tuckerton Branch, 380 Bay Ave.

“Gerald Fierst Storytelling – Tales from Around the World” presented by Pushcart Players

  • March 29th, 6 pm at the Plumsted Branch, 119 Evergreen Rd.

“Stone Soup and Other Stories” presented by Pushcart Players

  • March 30th, 6 pm at the Little Egg Harbor Branch, 290 Mathistown Rd.
