The Friends of the Stafford Library accepted a Proclamation from Stafford Township in celebration of National Friends of Libraries Week, which ran from October 18-24, 2014. Mayor John Spodofora and Councilman Henry Mancini honored their efforts on behalf of the library. Accepting the proclamation are: Anita Bowman, Barbara Liberti, Joan Gigstad, Councilman Mancini, Mayor Spodofora, Friends President Nora DeRosa, Barbara Ferrell, Jo Shinn, and Stafford Branch Manager Chris Rodas.
The RB Express performed at the Stafford Branch on Saturday, September 21, 2003. They took the audience of 90 people on a walk down memory lane, singing popular doo wop hits from the 1950's. This concert was co-sponsored by the Stafford Friends.

On May 30, 2012, Stafford Friends (from left Barbara Ferrell, Nora DeRosa, Mary Ann Boyler, Barbara Liberti and Marion Gwynn) packed 30 boxes of books, soon to be en route to Africa, through the Subayo Foundation in New York City.
At their December 1, 2011 meeting the Stafford Friends installed their 2012 slate of officers.

The Stafford Friends co-sponsored several wonderful programs at the branch this fall. On October 29, 2011 actress Elaine Bromka presented "Tea for Three" a play she wrote which portrays Lady Bird Johnson, Pat Nixon, and Betty Ford.

The Friends also sponsored "Who's Who at the Zoo" on November 10th. Live animals from the Philadelphia Zoo visited, along with Devon the zookeeper. Kids of all ages learned about macaws, porcupines and other exotic creatures.
On September 8th, the Friends of the Stafford Branch hosted a program featuring a visit from Alice Roosevelt Longworth, President Teddy Roosevelt’s daughter. Actress Kim Hanley, brought this colorful character to life before a packed house.
Stafford Mayor John Spodofora joined Ocean County Library Commissioners Henry Mancini and Sal Baglio in a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of the recently refurbished Stafford Branch of the Ocean County Library. The event, co-sponsored by the Friends of the Stafford Branch, took place at the library on Saturday, June 25th.
Assisting with the ribbon cutting at the re-opening of the recently renovated Stafford Branch of the Ocean County Library were: Anne Bungo (President, Friends of the Stafford Library); Chris Rodas (Stafford Branch Manager); Susan Quinn (Ocean County Library Director); John Spodofora (Stafford Township Mayor); Henry Mancini (Stafford Township Councilman and Ocean County Library Commissioner); and Sal Baglio (Ocean County Library Commissioner).
The Friends of the Stafford Library welcomed a visit on February 3rd from Abigail Adams (played to perfection by Kim Hanley). A big crowd of 85 people enjoyed this living reenactment of one of American history’s most esteemed women.

On November 11, the Friends of the Stafford Branch of Ocean County Library held a very special luncheon at the Captain’s Inn of Forked River that featured New York Times bestselling author Barbara Taylor Bradford!
Barbara spoke to a crowded audience on a variety of topics, ranging from her latest book Playing The Game to her early career as a journalist in Britain, as well as answering questions about her literary inspirations.

The Stafford Friends book sale, held on the last Thursday of every month, is a "Can't Miss" event. Buyers will find bargains galore! MaryAnn Boyler and Marion Gwynn do a great job every month handling the sale.
The sale runs from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
On March 4th, 2010, the Stafford Friends hosted a talk given by Thomas Fagan, a diver who has explored shipwrecks off the Jersey Shore.
The Stafford Friends helped kick off the branch’s 20th anniversary this year with a Magic Show featuring Bruce Bray on Saturday March 13th, 2010.
The room was packed with children who had a great time laughing at Bruce’s jokes and experiencing his fun magic tricks.

The Friends recently hosted a lively program presented by veterinarian Dr. Steve Wurst, owner of the Barnegat Animal Clinic. He shared stories of his experiences over the years of caring for pets of all kinds.

The Friends donated a star magnolia tree in memory of Friends President Pat Bulger, who passed away this year. The stone bench was donated by Pat's family. The stone was donated by Kathi and Steve Frampton, of Little Mill Rocks.
