The Ocean County Library is here for parents who homeschool with plenty of resources and support to help you and your family succeed! Enjoy a brief overview of the resources we have to offer, including our new Education Initiative and what it can do to help you.

Keynote Speaker - LaNissir James,

HSLDA Educational Consultant

"Building a Happy Homeschooler at Every Age"

LaNissir James is a wife and mother of 7 beautiful homeschool children (5 girls and 2 boys) and a homeschool leader with a passion to serve the homeschool community. She provides social, spiritual, academic, and supervisory support for many homeschool families. She supports, encourages and equips countless homeschool graduates to college, career & vocational schools.

LaNissir loves to speak to people to encourage and support their homeschooling through empathetic, engaging and practical wisdom informed by many years of experience and expertise. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland College Park, is pursuing a Master of Biblical Studies Degree, and is Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® Certified. LaNissir says, “The joy of helping a family feel the confidence that they can homeschool is priceless.” She is currently the HSLDA High School Educational Consultant.

Kids Storytime

An interactive storytime will be held for children ages 3 and up during the Keynote. Children will be escorted to the Green Room and returned to parents at the end of the Keynote. Interested parents should register their children for this activity when checking in for the day.

Curriculum vendors, local activities, enrichment classes, educational resources, and more! Local businesses and services will be here to speak with you and give you more information on the services they can offer homeschoolers.

Sparks's Lab Open House

Sparks's Lab at the Ocean County Library is a public makerspace that provides a hands-on creative environment where you can transform your ideas into reality. Come visit and see all that we have to offer your family.

Kids Activity: Pinewood Derby Races with the Boy Scouts Jersey Shore Council

The BSA Jersey Shore Council will be here for you to stop by and have some fun racing on their Pinewood Derby track.

Homeschooling mom Nicole Netelkos will be here to speak about her experiences with homeschooling her son through his high school years. Followed by an open group discussion.

Enjoy a live animal talk with our friends from Cattus Island Park.

Discussion Group: Avoiding Homeschooling Burnout

Holistic Health Coach Cait Byrnes will speak about healthy ways to avoid burnout from the stressors and daily routines of homeschooling. Followed by an open group discussion.

Kids Activity: Rotocopters with the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore

Come create your own rotocopter with the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore and use it to experiment with wind speeds.


The Homeschool Fair will be held at the Toms River Branch of the Ocean County Library.
