Submission of this application indicates you understand that to complete the S.A.I.L. Program and receive a certificate requires a minimum commitment of 15 hours of volunteerism, and that you have completed the 7th grade.

When the summer calendar is ready, you will be notified & given 2 copies to CIRCLE/HIGHLIGHT the programs you wish to volunteer for. You keep one copy of the calendar and return the other copy to the Tuckerton Library before June 14th.

The S.A.I.L. program at the Upper Shores Branch will run Monday through Thursday for six (6) weeks. The library will be closed on Thursday, July 4th for Independence Day. There will be two sessions, an AM/EVE session and an afternoon (PM) session.

The AM/EVE session runs Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm and Tuesday from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Teens who cannot attend the evening session will receive four (4) hours of volunteer time for the week. The PM session runs Monday through Thursday from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm.

The program is open to all teen residents who have completed eighth (8th) grade.

Applicants will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. You will be notified beginning the week of June 25th for the weeks you have been accepted. Groups are limited in size, so sign up early.

Reading Buddies is held at the Plumsted Branch for 6 weeks on every Monday and Thursday from July 8th thru August 15th, 2019. Teen Reading Buddies is for teens going into grades 8-12, to work with kids in grades 1-4.

There will be NO makeup sessions. Any scheduling conflicts should be discussed with a Reading Buddies coordinator. Abso­lutely no phone numbers should be ex­changed between Reading Buddy pairs.

Applicants will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. You will be notified of your acceptance / schedule. Sessions are limited in size, so sign up early!
