Courage to Remember Exhibition at Ocean County Library Toms River Branch

TOMS RIVER – The Courage to Remember exhibition developed by the Simon Wiesenthal Center will be on display and open to the public in Mancini Hall at the main branch of the Ocean County Library, Washington Street, Toms River, through May 1.

The display of 40 towering panels offers mute testimony of the brutality visited upon millions of innocent people during the Nazi Holocaust covering the years from 1933 to 1945, the narratives and photos succinctly summarize the atrocities of this historic time.

The traveling exhibition has been seen by millions of viewers on six continents, and continues to be displayed the United States, Asia and Africa.

The sponsors for the Courage to Remember are the Ocean County Board of Commissioners, the Ocean County Library, the Ocean County Prosecutor, the Ocean County Sheriff, Jewish Federation of Ocean County, the Ocean County College Center for Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights Education, Grunin Foundation, the Ocean County Superintendent of Schools, the Simon Wiesenthal Center and the Ocean County Cultural and Heritage Commission with funding from the New Jersey Historic Commission and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.

This program is made possible in part by grants administered to the Ocean County Cultural & Heritage Commission from the New Jersey Council on the Arts and the New Jersey Historical Commission, divisions of the Department of State.

The Los Angeles-based Simon Wiesenthal Center, is a global human rights organization, that confronts anti-Semitism, hate, and terrorism in historical and contemporary contexts. It is accredited as an NGO at the United Nations, UNESCO, the Organization of American States (OAS), the Latin American Parliament, the Council of Europe, and other international organizations.
