Ocean County Library is honored to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of 9/11 by hosting the poster exhibit “September 11, 2001: the Day that Changed the World.”

The exhibit was developed by the 9/11 Memorial and Museum for public library display and has been made possible in part by the National Endowment for the Humanities: Democracy Demands Wisdom.

Told across 14 posters, this exhibition includes archival photographs and images of artifacts from the Museum’s permanent collection.
It explores the consequences of terrorism on individual lives and communities at the local, national, and international levels, and encourages critical thinking about the legacies of 9/11.
The poster exhibit will be on display for the month of September 2021 at the following branches of Ocean County Library:

Ocean County 9/11 Memorials:

Over the past twenty years, communities around the United States have established memorials commemorating the September 11th attacks. Some are plaques or monuments; others include artifacts recovered from the World Trade Center disaster site. Ocean County honors all the victims, including the Ocean County residents that lost their life that day.
