July 29, 2024MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP – The manifold contributions by followers of Islam to life in the United States are underscored by deep ties that date back centuries. Trace their beginnings and growth in the U.S. during “History of Muslims in America” at the Ocean County Library Manchester Branch, 7 PM Monday, August 26.
In this fascinating account by the New Jersey Islamic Networks Group (NJ ING), you’ll learn about the lives and legacies of America’s earliest Muslims, including enslaved West Africans, early converts to Islam, and Muslim immigrants.
The presentation is one of more than a half-dozen informative programs offered by the East Brunswick-based non-profit organization to promote understanding, tolerance and mutual respect among cultures through education and dialogue.
