Fred Lehotay and the Ragtimers to Swing into the Ocean County Library Toms River Branch

August 26, 2025

TOMS RIVER – Looking for a relaxing evening of music? In celebration of the library’s 100th anniversary, the Ocean County Library Toms River Branch is pleased to host Fred Lehotay and the Ragtimers at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sep. 17.

Take a sentimental journey with the band as they perform classic ragtime favorites from the 1920s. This popular quartet’s music from the Roaring Twenties is upbeat and timeless.

The Ragtimers have been performing old-time sentimental melodies and rousing ragtime favorites since 1968. They keep alive the great music of the Roaring Twenties and introduce new generations to music of a great bygone era. The Ragtimers include Gary Nokes on bass, Bob Estler on guitar, Tom Rittenhouse on banjo, and bandleader Fred Lehotay on alto saxophone.

This program is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Ocean County Library – Toms River. The Friends are volunteers who support the library as a community resource through fundraising, programs, and advocacy. New memebrs are always welcome. Applications are available at all OCL branches and reading centers and on the OCL website.

Registration is required for this free program. To register, visit tinyurl.com/OCLRagtimers, visit the branch at 101 Washington Street, or call 732-349-6200. See the full schedule of library programs in the online Calendar of Events.
