On September 14th, the Toms River Branch hosted the 2019 James J. Mancini Author Event featuring Alice Hoffman. Hoffman discussed her novel, “The World That We Knew” and welcome attendees to join her for a book signing following the event.

On September 12th, the Toms River Branch hosted “Buried Alive with the Will to Survive – From Devastation to Inspiration” where retired FDNY Lieutenant and 9/11 survivor Joe Torrillo shared his inspiring story and lessons on how to manage fear under the most horrible circumstances.
Colm Keegan Live
Colm Keegan, former lead vocalist of Celtic Thunder, visited the Toms River Branch for a two-part program on March 8, 2019. Keegan first offered an Introduction to the Irish Language course and then performed live in concert.

3rd Annual "Links with the Masters," a Two-Day Mini Golf Fundraising Event
On March 1st and 2nd, 2019 the Toms River Branch was transformed into a miniature golf course during a two-day fundraiser by the Ocean County Library Foundation.
OCL and OceanFirst Foundation Author Event Ruth King
The Toms River Branch hosted “Mindful of Race: Transforming Racism from the Inside Out” on Wednesday, May 8th with diversity consultant and meditation teacher Ruth King who provided a fresh take on the complexity of racial conditioning and the dynamics of racial oppression.

Friends of the Ocean County Library Author Event: Lisa Scottoline
The Friends of the Ocean County Library welcomed bestselling author Lisa Scottoline on November 6th, 2019 for a talk and Q&A, followed by a book selling and book signing.
