Post during his Ocean County Library Virtual Author Talk, 2 PM Wednesday, December 4.

Discover the secrets of world-famous gems that are featured in The Smithsonian National Gem Collection Unearthed: Surprising Stories Behind the Jewels, available at the Ocean County Library.

Hear fascinating facts about precious stones such as the Hope Diamond, Star of Asia Sapphire, Carmen Lúcia Ruby, Hooker Emerald, and Blue Heart Diamond and learn about human dramas through history that add to their allure.

A Wisconsin native, Dr. Post has published more than 150 articles related to mineralogy, gemology and geochemistry. He served as Curator-in-Charge of the U.S. National Gem and Mineral Collection from 1991 to 2023 and was lead Curator for the Janet Annenberg Hooker Hall of Geology, Gems and Minerals.
