Discover “The Life of a Pointe Shoe” at LBI Library

SURF CITY – Ballet aficionados rejoice! The Long Beach Island Branch of the Ocean County Library will host “The Life of a Pointe Shoe” at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 15.

Enjoy a presentation on the historical and fascinating evolution of the classic ballet slipper: the pointe shoe. Learn about its journey from factory to stage and how professional ballerinas meticulously prepare and care for their shoes.

Long Beach Island Library Branch Manager and devoted balletomane Laurence Krupinski will present a slideshow on this fascinating subject and will display her expansive pointe shoe collection.
