Learn about the Italian American Songbook at the Toms River Branch of the Ocean County Library

September 25, 2025

TOMS RIVER – The Italian American songbook has been responsible for bringing countless tunes into the public consciousness during the 1940s, 50s, and 60s. Fans of this classic era of music are invited to the Toms River Branch of the Ocean County Library for “The Italian American Songbook: A Multimedia Presentation with Jimmy Scalia” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 15.

Scalia will delight audiences with the sounds and life stories of popular Italian American artists. Attendees will hear and see Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Louis Prima, Connie Frances, Tony Martin, Frankie Laine, Dean Martin, and more. Please note this is a feel-good multimedia presentation, not a live concert.

This program is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Ocean County Library – Toms River. Friends are volunteers who support the Library through programs, fundraisers and advocacy. New members are always welcome. Application forms are available at all OCL branches and on the OCL website.

Registration is required for this free program. To register, visit tinyurl.com/ItalianAmericanTR, call 732-349-6200, or visit the branch at 101 Washington Street.
