Ocean County Library Little Egg Harbor Branch Offers Quality Time for Siblings of Special Needs Children
September 11, 2024LITTLE EGG HARBOR – Young siblings of children with special needs can meet and connect during monthly “Sibling Get-Togethers” at the Ocean County Library Little Egg Harbor Branch. The next will take place at 5:30 PM Tuesday, September 17.
Children in grades one through six are especially invited to take part. Siblings of youngsters with special needs often face unique situations that can sometimes be demanding, and can also be very rewarding.
The hour-long, non-therapy Sibling Get-Togethers provide a safe, nurturing environment for them to share their experiences, make new friends and enjoy engaging activities.
“We aim to empower these remarkable siblings while celebrating their unique roles and foster lasting friendships,” said Librarian Kathleen Sanchez. “Join us as we build a community where siblings can find understanding, strength, and the tools to navigate their exceptional journey with love and compassion.”
Upcoming sessions will also take place at 5:30 PM Tuesday, October 22 and Tuesday, November 5.
