Ocean County Library Southern Branch Patrons Benefit from Enhancements & Upgrades

September 30, 2024

TOMS RIVER – If your favorite Ocean County Library branch in the southern portion of the county seems a little bit brighter and more accommodating these days, you’re a good observer. Work continues with improvements in OCL’s branches from Barnegat to Stafford.

The improvements reinforce the Library’s commitment to top quality service for its patrons and reflect OCL’s recognition of southern Ocean County as its fastest-growing region.

  • Barnegat Branch – The interior is undergoing a complete refreshment including renovated restrooms. Soon to come are extra self-checkout kiosks and a self-service holds area for patron convenience, a new circulation desk and new furniture items.
  • Little Egg Harbor Branch – Freshening of the interior walls has been completed, and the finishing touches have been placed on a new overhead lighting system.
  • Long Beach Island Branch – A new overhead lighting system is now in place and the interior space has been refreshed. Yet to come are an entirely new entranceway staircase and accessibility ramp. The exterior of the branch was also recently repainted.
  • Stafford Branch – Construction continues at the location of the new Stafford Branch. Combined with the Southern Ocean County Resource Center, the complex will be a one-stop, full-service headquarters on South Main Street in Manahawkin.

Ocean County Library is committed to ensuring that all of our locations constantly improve to meet the needs of the communities we serve.
