Ocean County Library Toms River Branch to Present Alborada Spanish Dance Theatre
August 20, 2024TOMS RIVER – Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a live performance by New Jersey’s famed Alborada Spanish Dance Theatre at the Ocean County Library Toms River Branch, 6:30 PM Monday, September 16.
People of all ages are invited to revel in the expressiveness and pageantry of live music, dances and authentic costumes that have their origins in Spain, Mexico and Ecuador.
Alborada reveals the history and diversity of Spanish culture through passionate artistry in dance, drama and music. Its repertoire illustrates the merging of Hispanic, Gypsy, Moorish and Celtic influences in dramatic sound and choreography
The Woodbridge nonprofit organization founded in 1965 by María Alba continues today under the artistic direction of Eva Lucena, who carries on the mission of bringing a broad palette of Spanish cultures and traditions to communities throughout the United States.
