Touch-a-Truck to Highlight Summer Reading Kickoff at Ocean County Library Upper Shores Branch
May 29, 2025LAVALLETTE – Combine family fun, community spirit and a love of literature and big rigs, and you have the big picture for the Second Annual Summer Reading Kickoff at the Ocean County Library Upper Shores Branch, 10 AM until 1 PM Friday, June 27.
A Touch-a-Truck event will be the fun gateway to OCL’s 2025 Summer Reading program. Youngsters can explore a Lavallette fire engine, police car, ambulance, Department of Public Works vehicles and a truck from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office and learn about the special gear they contain and how they function.
The Branch will provide crafting materials for children while supplies last, and will have plenty of applications to join the OCL Summer Reading Program. All kids who register will be entered into a drawing to win a special prize. Two lucky winners will be chosen at random.
The Friends of the Upper Shores Library will also be on hand with a special puzzle sale. All proceeds go directly to the volunteer group’s support of Library programs.
Please register at https://tinyurl.com/UPSummer for this free program for all ages. For more details, please visit or call the Ocean County Library Upper Shores Branch, 112 Jersey City Avenue, Lavallette, (732) 793-3996. See the full schedule of Library programs in the online Calendar of Events.
