Volunteer tutors will help adults learn how
to read and write at no cost to the student. The
LVA also provides assistance to the non-native
speaker of English.

with the LVA ---Volunteers are always needed!
- Volunteer tutors
will be trained by the LVA. Training materials
are provided for the tutor by the LVA in
Basic Literacy and English as a Second Language
(ESL).
- Volunteer tutors
must be able to commit to tutoring for one year.
- Volunteer tutors
meet with their students in a public setting,
such as a library.
- A tutor does NOT
need to know a foreign language and does NOT
need a college degree.

are available through the Ocean County Library
system. Check your branch for availability.
The Ocean County Library
has books, compact discs, audio cassettes, videos, and cd-roms that may be checked out.
